The shoot that never was…

Well this was a first in over two years of modeling…I got stood up by a photographer who had arranged to hire me and shoot me in a local studio I work out of often.

What is a model to do with her own studio, a remote trigger, and a 30D….*insert maniacal laugh here* I got to play with the remote trigger and lights and ended up with several fun images.

What happens when one contortionist and one foot fetishist get together? Apparently no one believes it ever happened. So we had to do it all over again just to prove the shoot was real…Collin shoots feet that is what he does, his work is beautiful and he is one artist that has a vision that is so narrow that one would wonder how he ever gets anyone to work with him yet his vision is so pure that he has more women flocking to him than many other photographers who have been shooting 3x as long…He shoots what he loves with no apologies no regrets and no exceptions…Collin shoots beautiful feet.. Our first shoot was much fun in some trendy tiki punk hotel in downtown S.F. We posted our images proudly as and parents would and waited for the praise of a good job done… Still waiting *checks watch* *taps pretty bare foot* apparently we did such a good job that everyone wanted to now who the other girl was in the photos…No really, whose twinkled toes was Iona sucking on? Why didn’t you guys give credit to the other model? The secret is out.. We re shot our session and pulled back further and used a wider lens to prove that those tasty toes are MINE!!!! Collin has just been published in then new erotic photography By Tachen books…

Ohh the havoc I will wreak with this advanced knowledge of Bloging…
This shoot was done by Brennan Chung of Apex Glamour. I met Brennan at a meet and greet in 2005 and we went out to San Jose to go shoot. At the time these were taken he had only been shooting for a bout two years. Yipes.. He is also very nice and helped me with a few other modeling photographer projects later on. On this shoot we went out to a location that included hiking about .25 miles on foot on a dirt trail and keeping guard for bikers on the trail above us while we were in the ravine…I learned that even if the photographer says it will be a short walk… Models need to wear good walking shoes.. Not 3 inch mules!!! I also learned just how much an alien bee’s power pack weighs, that is what I get for offering to carry something. Brennan told me that he had been shooting in the field for months and never gotten caught by local rangers then got caught 2x in one week… yipes. We didn’t get caught that day though.

For all the botany enthusiasts out there this is a mulberry tree it is the tree that silkworms live in and eat…

Paul Montgomery’s White Chair

This white chair is older than I am…
Paul Montgomery has been shooting for many years and has one of the best “Home studios” I have ever seen, each wall is covered with photographs and prints, each chest of drawers is filled with thousands and thousands of negatives, his “living room” is his studio full time the backdrop does not come down. Paul worked with me back in 2005 and again in 2006 this image if from our first shoot back when I was still sporting my long purple hair. I recall I swore that chair was so rickety that it wouldn’t hold up much longer even under my slight 95Lb frame I was assured that his old beat up plain white chair was older than I was and very sturdy. The chair head together and we shot with different fabrics and the chair and if I recall a few images with one of his kitty cats too… Paul was shooting a combination of digital, mixed with film the darned digital camera was acting up so we shot mostly film. The extra fun part of the shoot was at the end when I had to run from one end of the yard to the other this is how Paul ends all of his shoots…The model runs back and forth in his yard nude while he captures the silly looks on their faces whilst they are running…

So you want to be an internet model?
This article will go over the ins and outs of becoming a successful internet whore.

The three most common independent types of models or internet whores are glamour, figure/art, & fetish.

Glamour models are all about lingerie sexy looks, great makeup, full breasts, tiny waists, long curled hair. Glamour modeling is usually in playboy style models are glamorous sexy and try to emulate any man’s fantasy.

Figure models are quite the opposite they are as bare as the day they were born, no corsets to since in the waist, no push up bra to lift the breasts, no blue eye shadow. A figure model needs to be graceful and flexible. Since many artists have many visions many body styles are suitable for figure modeling.

Fetish models are all about the latex, leather, legs what ever the client’s fetish. That is the fetish you will be shooting. Many successful fetish models have a niche market they cater to. That fetish may be feet fetish, or bondage fetish, or a latex fetish.

These are very simple explanations of the three major styles of independent models.
Take a look at your self in the mirror and ask your self where do I fit in?

City of Angels

My trip to LA was fantastic. This image was the result of last minute collaboration with the studio owner Kevin Break. I had finished a shoot in the studio and met Kevin who was showing some beautiful nighttime bridge images. And then some images from a model session as well under the bridge…Per true Iona Lynn fashion I wanted to know why the model was not nude. So we waited until just dusk, traipsed out to the LA river bed, and I climbed out on the steal girders of the bridge. This image is the result. Please note that there is about 50 feet of nothing between me and certain death if I decided to take a dive off the bridge..... This shoot goes in the record books as one of the most death defying shoots so far...
